As a Rigging Key, Bret recognized the need for a better way to handle the many requirements of rigging backing/curtain track. Nearly all the backing track available before Bret started Bar Rigging was old and sub-standard, making it difficult and time consuming to hang.

Bret started supplying Series 500 track for his own shows.

Although Series 500 track is considered by many as the best track for our industry it lacked certain accessories

Bret set about designing and manufacturing those accessories (see “switcher plates” in the equipment section), making his track system second to none.

 

Fellow Key Grips, and Production Designers got wind of Bret’s new track system and started calling for it.

The rest as “they” say is history.

BAR Rigging was born out of necessity and has grown to be the premier backing track company in California.
